The Chilly Moose Story
We at Chilly Moose have a deep love of exploring the outdoors: a desire to always explore around the next bend and over the next hill. Much of our family life is spent planning upcoming adventures, whether it’s re-visiting our favorite Northern Ontario retreats, or stumbling upon lesser-traveled places around the world. In all our travels, one thing remains constant: our gear. We take the same types of coolers, bottles, and packs with us each time, but have never found anything we truly love using. Other outdoor companies simply didn’t suit our needs, didn’t suit our wallets, and really just didn’t reflect our (for lack of a better word) “Canadian-ness”.
OUR PRIORITY IS TO
PROTECT WHAT WE LOVE MOST
Our love of parks, the outdoors, and easy access to clean water, fuels our desire to fiercely protect them all. We have never been a “buy and toss” family - reusing and recycling are natural habits for us and our children. You can help reduce your impact on our fragile planet by using reusable drinkware. All of our products are designed to last as long as you do. Imagine how many single-use containers you could save from going into the garbage by using — and reusing — Chilly Moose drinkware!
Does every Chilly Moose cooler come with a tree?
Well, sort of...
Georgian Bay Leisure and Chilly Moose are extremely proud to partner with Tree Canada in support of the National Greening Program.
Tree Canada is a charity proudly dedicated to planting nurturing trees. Since 1992, Tree Canada has planted 82 million trees, greened more than 660 schoolyards, helped restore places hit by natural disasters, and brought together urban forestry experts greening cities all across Canada.
For every 25L or 35L Chilly Moose cooler sold in Canada, Georgian Bay Leisure will donate one tree for planting. For every 55L or 75L Chilly Moose sold, two trees will be planted. As an added touch, the trees will be planted in the same region of Canada where each cooler is sold.
While your Chilly Moose cooler won't actually have a tree in it, you can be proud that your purchase helps support healthy forests in Canada.
PACK LIKE A PRO
GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CHILLY ICE BOX
PRE-CHILL BEFORE PACKING
Pre-chill the cooler with ice packs or crushed ice at least 1 hour before packing. Also, make sure food and drinks are frozen or cold before going into the cooler.
USE SOLID ICE CUBES & ICE PACKS
Cubed ice is best for keeping food colder for longer. You can fit more of it into available space. More cold ice equals less warm air. Pack in as much as possible, right to the top!
FOOD & DRINK FIRST, ICE LAST
Cold air travels downwards. Load your cold drinks and food first, then fill to the top with cubed ice. This displaces the warmer air and will give you maximum ice retention.
KEEP OUT OF THE SUN
Be aware that a tent, trailer, or car can all get significantly hotter than the outside temperature. Where possible, store your cooler outdoors and out of the sun.
KEEP THE LID CLOSED
Go into the cooler only for what you need, then shut and latch the lid immediately so you’re not unnecessarily venting cool, beneficial air. Consider a separate cooler for frequently accessed items, like drinks.
COOLER CARE
Clean using a mild soap and warm water. Air dry thoroughly with the lid open before storing to avoid mold and mildew.
